Roots & Genealogy
Archives, records and tools to trace your family.
Tracing Cuban grandparents or Spanish, Canary Islander, Chinese or African ancestors leads to many different archives. Here we gather genealogy guides, databases, archives in Cuba and Spain, emigration records and exile-era resources such as the 1960s Cuban Refugee Program.
Much of Cuba's record keeping is not online: often you need to request certificates from civil registries or parishes. The guides in this section explain how.
